How to listen to your gut feeling and use your body's wisdom

Living with chronic gut problems like Crohn's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, or SIBO can make you feel like your body is working against you. But what if your body would actually try to help you if you could just listen?

Before we dive deeper, you might want to watch this short video where I share what listening to your gut actually looks like in everyday life and how your body always speaks to you when you know how to pay attention.

What does this have to do with intestinal health?

If you live with gut issues, your body is already talking to you. It’s like, “Hey, something’s wrong.”

But if you've spent years ignoring or overriding your gut signals, eating what you consider “healthy,” overcoming pain, or relying solely on test results, you may have lost that connection.

    Reconstruction begins with awareness.

By practicing this type of body listening:

    • You begin to build trust in your body again.
    • You notice what feels good (and what doesn't).
    • You start making decisions from within, not from fear or rules.

This is how true healing begins.

Use your imagination as a tool

Fantasy doesn't just happen in the head. It's a way to try out new possibilities. When you give space to your imagination, you allow a new consciousness to emerge.

    For example:

    • “What if this path was better for me today?”
    • “What if my body just wants water and not a snack?”
    • “What if this discomfort is trying to tell me something?”

Play with these ideas. Let your inner voice speak. Give him permission, even if it feels strange at first.

    Easy Ways to Start Listening

You don't need a retreat or a special meditation app to get started. Just try this:

    1. Take a walk. Anywhere – in your neighborhood, in a park, in the forest.
    2. Turn off distractions. No podcasts, no calls. Just you and the world around you.
    3. Ask your body, “Where do you want to go?” Then follow.
    4. Notice what catches your attention. Keep an open mind. Stay curious.
    5. Allow yourself to “make things up.” That's where the magic lives.

You can do this in 10 minutes a day. No pressure. No agenda. Just presence.

Why it's important to listen to your gut feeling

Healing isn't just about supplements and food (although those are important too). It's really about the relationship between you and your body.

When you start listening to your gut, you stop fighting your symptoms. You start to hear the news.

And then real change becomes possible.
