Are you trying to heal but having trouble finding the missing piece to your health puzzle? Let’s explore together the close connection between our emotions and the physical body – and what we can do to harmonize them!
Jini always talks about the connection between mind and body, so today I want to talk about my personal journey to better illustrate this deep connection…
Mind/body/spirit healing
Of all the things I had to do to heal my inflammatory bowel disease, dealing with the “emotional stuff” was by far the most work – and definitely the hardest.
But why is it so necessary to do this emotional work? Jini always says that long-term healing is achieved at the root level through healing ALL levels of the self and that we must address the emotional and spiritual aspects or messages of our illness.
Many people contact us here at LTYG and are very frustrated because even though they are eating right, taking supplements, making lifestyle changes, they are still not seeing great results in their body. Here’s a great excerpt I took from Jini’s blog post “Why Am I Not Healing?” have taken.
In many cases, the person does not see progress/healing because they are not adequately addressing an entire component of their gut: emotional trauma or injury. The gut registers and processes emotions just as much (if not more) than the brain! Over 60% of the body’s neurotransmitters are located not in the brain, but in the gut. So you see, there is NO WAY to achieve complete healing without addressing the emotional issues in your life/body.
Remember that your gut is affected and damaged by emotional pain, anger, trauma, etc. Do NOT underestimate the importance of healing your emotional/spiritual body! So many people are very strict about implementing all the physical aspects of my protocols, but ignore the emotional healing and then wonder why they don’t get great results. Please note that you have not truly tried my healing methods until you have dealt with the emotional and spiritual side of your illness.
So think about this for a moment: Couldn’t dealing with your own emotional trauma/injury be the reason you developed gut disease in the first place?
My journey with UC and EBV (Epstein-Barr virus)
Pathogenic organisms such as yeast (Candida albicans), viruses, parasites and harmful bacteria contribute significantly to intestinal problems. Therefore, the physical symptoms of an illness are most often addressed – but the emotional causes of the illness are often overlooked.
We are all exposed to different pathogens (bacteria, viruses, etc.) every day, but take a moment to stop and think about what made you susceptible to ____ that gave you Crohn’s disease, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, SIBO, etc. in the first place? With this in mind, from an emotional perspective, whenever a problem, a symptom or something similar occurs, I ask myself: Why did I get the ____ pathogen? Because in my opinion and experience, there is usually an emotional reason why I have a particular pathogen.
Let me give you a personal example:
One of the main causes of my ulcerative colitis was EBV (Epstein-Barr virus). This is a common virus, which in my case probably came from a tick bite, but it can also be transmitted by sharing drinking glasses with other people, toothbrushes, surfaces – basically anything.
Of course, I immediately started looking for natural treatments/protocols, but one day I stopped because a thought crossed my mind:
What if there is an emotional connection to EBV? Let me examine this…
In fact, what I found was exactly the problem! You see, the pathogen itself may be trying to teach you a lesson. So it’s up to us to figure out what that emotional connection is.
You might be thinking, “Yeah, right!” Well, let me share a very personal experience where I learned this lesson hard – and it changed everything.
One of my favorite books, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay, has a section where she lists the problem, the likely cause, and new thought patterns. Its likely cause is the Epstein-Barr virus go beyond your own borders. Fear of not being good enough. Drain any inner support. Stress virus.
When I read that my jaw dropped. Stress virus. These two words lead me down a new path of looking at the root causes of problems and WHY they exist (or arose) in the first place.
Here are two more emotional links to EBV….
Attachment anxiety is related to the latency of the Epstein-Barr virus
Emotional suppression, stress disclosure responses, and Epstein-Barr viral capsid antigen titers
You see, I got EBV because my body was trying to send me the above messages, but for some reason I wasn’t listening – so it manifested itself into illness. Does this sound familiar? If that’s the case, it’s because Jini addresses this throughout her blog!
When I spoke earlier why you get a certain pathogen, That’s what I meant. There was a reason I got EBV, a lesson I had to learn, why I got EBV and not another virus! This could be why others are exposed to the same substance and don’t get sick, but we did. Emotional problems can not only manifest illness, but also make us more susceptible to contracting pathogens, viruses, etc. that cause illness.
So our emotional well-being is at the heart of everything.
When we are emotionally stable, our body is in a normal rhythm and can naturally fight things off as intended. However, when we experience trauma, stress, etc. we are now trapped in negative thoughts, feelings, beliefs and patterns. These in turn trigger inflammation in the body.
Think about it – when someone has a lot of fear inside them, the body is always in fight or flight because it thinks that danger is everywhere. It anticipates danger in every corner and cannot distinguish between real and fake danger. The cool thing about it, however, is that once we let go of the deep patterns, our natural immunity skyrockets and the body actually begins to repair itself – even without outside help!
Knowing that emotional issues can be at the root of things can also ease some fears, because whenever you suffer from all these physical things, you can become a little germaphobe! Anything you eat or touch can seem like a danger because you’re afraid of getting ____ (or another pathogen) again, which could trigger a flare-up!
Realizing that the power to restore emotional connection (which also builds natural immunity and resilience) lies within you could help you mentally let go of your fears! Try focusing on releasing as much negativity in the body as possible and see if your resilience increases! 🙂
Just because you were exposed to ____ doesn’t mean you will get ____. This can be very helpful for people with IBD, as we may have been programmed for many years to AVOID this, not touch that, etc… as a protective mechanism against our flare-ups.
You will notice when you have had a major breakthrough emotionally. I had it, Jini had it. After super deep tapping sessions, I would become extremely tired (a clear sign that I was letting things go), but within a few hours I felt such peace and lightness. As if a burden had been lifted from me – just absolute freedom! If you haven’t tried a free session with Jini yet, I highly recommend you give this powerful tool a try. You really have to experience it yourself to feel the feeling of freedom I’m talking about! One of the sessions that has helped me the most is setting healthy boundaries, but you can choose from three different free sessions here.
I have tried many healing methods, but the additional benefit I found with Lazer Tapping was that I was able to focus on strengthening my emotional self-support – and then I was able to release those emotions from my body. When I realized that this release was going to change things for me, I dropped everything else. To be honest, all the modalities I tried became too overwhelming as I tried to implement them all at once.
NOW when I get a “diagnosis” the first thing I ask myself is why this particular problem exists… and then I guess it!

I have written several blog posts about dealing with the emotional trauma and wounds that come with IBD and how you can change your mindset to live a more positive and healthy life for yourself. If you know my story, you know I fought hard. And some days are still harder than others. I hope the posts I create give you hope, inspiration, and courage to move forward on your healing journey.
