What happens if you can't afford to buy the supplements that you believe will help you heal and significantly improve your life?
And why do you decide whether or not you can “afford” healthcare?
- Do you have an iPhone?
- Do you drive your own car?
- Are you going out to eat?
- How many shirts do you have in your closet that you never wear?
All of these things cost money – we decide what to spend our money on based on our priorities.
People often complain about the high cost of medications or surgeries, but they usually do their best to buy something that they believe will help them. Many sell their homes or go bankrupt to pay for medical treatment.
While this is true for many people when it comes to purchasing natural supplements, others simply don't consider supplements to be as important as medications.
And then there are the people who really can't afford either. This email from an LTYG reader is a good example:
“I'm 81 years old and don't have much time ahead of me. I live on disability and reverse mortgage, but don't have much income. The book has good things I can do with it, but the products are quite expensive, the full program is out of reach.”
Gut healing supplement hacks that cost no more than food
Although it would be ideal – and most effective, faster and more efficient – to buy the supplements recommended in my books, I give you a list of cheaper alternatives that will still help significantly:
1. Stool accumulation (diarrhea) or softening (constipation)
Although I recommend ColonEaze in my books, you can also use plain psyllium, chia seeds, or flax seeds.
2. Detoxification
While I recommend bentonite clay or activated charcoal, you can use this cilantro pesto detox recipe. You can also pick fresh nettle (wear gloves!), pour hot water over the leaves and drink it as a tea.
3. Probiotics (diarrhea, constipation, intestinal infection)
I recommend Natren probiotics in my books, but you can also use homemade yogurt or kefir (but don't use kefir if you are sensitive to yeast) or fermented vegetables. Carrots fermented with ginger are an easy recipe. When cultivating microbes at home, remember to keep all tools and surfaces sterile!
4. Elemental diet (for gut healing)
I recommend Absorb Plus, but you can make your own food-based shakes using black bananas, yogurt, avocado, raw milk (if you can get it), and raw pasture-raised egg yolks – here are some recipes. If possible, consume homemade bone broths. The other simple diet hack you can implement that will have a big impact is to avoid or reduce grains (wheat, rice, oats, etc.) and also avoid corn and soy.
5. Heal the mucous membrane
I recommend MucosaCalm and George's Aloe Vera in my books. You can also use powder from elm and marshmallow root – mix both in warm water. Also make a tea with sliced ginger, hot water, raw honey and a squeeze of lemon juice. This tea is also great for colds or flu.
6. Intestinal infection (killing pathogens)
I recommend wild oregano oil in combination with Natren probiotics. But you can use potassium iodide in water, 8 drops 3 times a day on an empty stomach. Make sure your potassium iodide SSKI is at least 22 mg per drop.
In my podcast with Dr. Scott Tyler tells you why you don't need to worry about your thyroid (unless you already have thyroid problems). You can also use highly diluted food-grade hydrogen peroxide in water.
Dr. David Williams provides detailed instructions for oral use of H202 in this article – scroll down to the section titled: Suggested Protocol. Remember that every time you kill microbes, you have to replace them with good bacteria. (See “Probiotics” section above).
The most important nutritional supplements for intestinal healing
If you have a certain amount of money, the supplements that will give you the best value for money are:
Natren probiotics + wild oregano oil.
Use according to the instructions in one of my books (see “Jini's Wild Oregano Oil Protocol” for instructions). If you don't have one of my books, the cheapest book that contains this protocol is Jini's Natural Healing Guide: Intestinal Infection – for less than $10
FAQs on Gut Healing Supplements
1. What happens if I can't afford Absorb Plus?
On pages 47-49 of my book, The IBD Remission Diet, I provide instructions on how to make your own Elemental Shake.
2. Is MucosaCalm safe for children?
Yes that's it. For specific instructions on dosage amounts for children, see the instructions for use or consult your doctor.
3. Can I add Natren probiotic powder to my Absorb Plus shakes or should I just mix the probiotics with water?
I reached out to Natasha Trenev, founder/owner of Natren Probiotics, and asked her this question. She replied: Yes, you can mix Natren's probiotic powders with Absorb Plus, but you must follow these instructions (you don't want to chop up the bacterial walls in a blender):
- First, whip up your Absorb Plus shake in the blender as usual
- Take out 2 ounces of shake and mix in your probiotics with a spoon until it forms a smooth paste
- Add the paste mixture back into the rest of the shake and stir well with a spoon to mix thoroughly
- IF you don't use a blender and just shake everything in a BlenderBottle, you can add the Natren powders at the same time as Absorb Plus. Shaking vigorously does not harm the bacteria.
- Drink as usual
4. I experienced severe bloating on the Elemental Diet with Absorb Plus – I thought this diet was supposed to heal me and not make my symptoms worse?
Consuming foods in purely elemental (pre-digested) form often leads to bloating. However, this is only temporary and will go away once you reduce the shakes and go back to eating normally. Ways to minimize bloating include taking Natren probiotics and consuming the shakes at room temperature.
5. My husband has Crohn's disease – we believe it is due to a MAP infection. He takes colloidal silver, probiotics and fish oil. Is there a safe way to eat dairy or beef products? Aged cheese? Yoghurt made from boiled milk? Burgers made well?
Since MAP is even present in water, it's not so much about strictly avoiding it, but more about treating the dormant/active life cycle and further strengthening the gut microbiota so that the gut is resistant to even short-term exposure. So, every 3 months or whenever symptoms start to increase again (indicating an active phase), you should do Jini's Wild Oregano Oil protocol (this can be done together with colloidal silver) and continue with the high dose Natren probiotics. However, the worst MAP contamination is found in commercial milk. Therefore, only use RAW grass-fed dairy products and beef, raw cheese, etc. There are many suppliers on the Internet or you can check here: www.realmilk.com
