    Guided meditation to relax the vagus nerve and neckIrritable bowel syndrome and other intestinal diseases can have many triggers – stress is at the top of the list! The connection between mind and gut (also called your second brain) is strong because when your body goes into fight or flight mode, it inhibits your digestive system and vagus nerve.

    The vagus nerve is the longest cranial nerve that extends to the abdomen. It innervates major organs, including the intestines, and an underactive vagus nerve can affect intestinal motility. By calming your vagus nerve and reducing stress levels, your body can shift from fight-or-flight mode to rest and digest mode, which can help restore healthy gut function.

    I encourage you to join me for this guided session that focuses on the vagus nerve and also neck (cervical vertebrae) mobility.

    This 15-minute exercise is designed to increase mobility and blood flow to the neck and improve vagus nerve tone. Don’t be surprised if it puts you in a state of calm openness and relieves anxiety!
