Did you know THIS about kombucha?
“The kombucha is not a fungus, but several yeasts that live in symbiosis with several bacteria. But we have little idea what it is, no idea what side effects it has. And undoubtedly it can be contaminated by spores in the air. With a contaminated culture you could kill yourself or your friends.” –Paul Stamets
After fermentation, the tea is usually highly acidic and contains alcohol, ethyl acetate, acetic acid and lactate.
“The pH of each batch of kombucha is between 2.5 and 4.6. And a pH of less than 2.5 makes the drink too acidic for normal human consumption. While a pH above 4.6 increases the risk of contamination.” – Vaidya Mishra
Know the side effects of kombucha
Low pH kombucha has resulted in numerous people being hospitalized with severe acidosis. Acidosis is an abnormal increase in acid levels in body fluids.
It can lead to cardiac arrest, kidney failure and liver dysfunction.
Finally, check the sugar content on your kombucha bottle. Because you might be surprised at how high it is.

Drinking kombucha in commonly consumed amounts (approximately 4 ounces daily) generally may not cause adverse effects in healthy individuals.
However, the potential health risks are unknown for people with pre-existing health problems and for those who drink large amounts of tea or a contaminated batch.

How do you repopulate your gut with good bacteria?
When you repopulate your bacterial flora to contain mostly good bacteria (using probiotic supplements), many harmful pathogens such as yeast, fungi, mold, parasites, viruses and bad bacteria are drastically reduced and eliminated from your intestinal environment.
Probiotic therapy benefits people with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) in many ways.
When there are too many “bad” bacteria in your gut and not enough “good” bacteria, the bad bacteria (like yeast, fungi, parasites, etc.) damage the lining of your gut. And even penetrate the intestinal wall.
Not only does this cause an increase in mucus, inflammation, ulcers, and bleeding, but it also causes undigested food particles to pass directly into your bloodstream. There they are perceived as allergens and trigger an immune response.
