Are you struggling with thyroid problems? Do you suspect your hormones are out of balance? Are you doing too much, lacking time and energy limits, and letting your adrenal glands run like a horse?
We started this discussion with me calling Dr. Scott asked Tyler ND to tell us what’s in his personal medical bag. What does he always have on hand and at his fingertips?
This quickly turned into a detailed discussion about thyroid function and iodine supplementation (if you want to continue with iodine and thyroid, start at 5:00 minutes) – DON’T miss this discussion! This is followed by a discussion of the adrenal glands and again how the mind/emotions are vital to healing thyroid and adrenal problems.
If you are struggling with thyroid problems; Fatigue, weight gain, memory loss, constant feeling of cold, hair loss – then this podcast will be enlightening and liberating for you.
Oh and BIG NEWS: If you are currently using one of my StrictureHeal protocols (which use iodine), you no longer need to monitor your thyroid! Dr. Tyler will tell you why.

Here is more evidence/evidence for Dr. Tyler’s advice:
“Dr. Michael B. Schachter says, “The treatment dose for iodine deficiency is generally between 12.5 mg and 50 mg daily.” Preliminary research suggests that for iodine deficiency, it takes about three months to achieve an adequate dose of iodine when taking 50 mg of iodine daily, and one year to achieve this when taking 12.5 mg of iodine daily.
Those interested in maintaining dosage after illnesses and deficiencies have been treated should keep in mind that your thyroid alone requires about 6 mg of iodine per day for optimal function; a woman’s breasts need about 5 mg/day (women with larger breasts need more); and other body tissues such as adrenal glands, thymus, ovaries, hypothalamus and pituitary gland require about 2 mg/day. Therefore, adults should consider around 10 to 12 mg/day for optimal well-being.”
And from the renowned Orthomolecular Medicine Association:
“Fatigue, lack of energy or depression, weight gain, memory problems, dry skin, dry mouth, or immune system problems? There’s a good chance your body needs an iodine supplement.”
Those from Dr. GE Abraham recommended daily amount of iodine is 0.1-0.3 ml Lugol with 12.5-37.5 mg elemental iodine. This is the amount of iodine needed for total body sufficiency, based on a recently published iodine/iodide challenge test.”
As I mentioned on the call, I use the potassium iodide that we sell at the Shoppe and it is 25 mg per drop. I take 1 drop per day. At some point I will probably lower the dose to 25 mg every other day.
We conclude the call with a discussion of the attack on natural healthcare currently taking place in Canada, the United States and around the world. We discuss ways to resist and create a parallel reality outside of the illegal and draconian controls currently imposed on people.
