I'm sharing a summary of my experience at the Reimagining Health Summit. If you're reading this and want to learn more about becoming an Integrative Health Practitioner, check it out here and use FITNESSISTA for up to $250 off. It is by far the best certification I have ever taken.
Hello friends!
I hope you're doing well so far and enjoying your week. We have a short school week ahead of us thanks to Thanksgiving, so we're planning some fun things for this week. The weather has been to die for so I'll see if I can convince the crew to go for a hike.
For today's post I wanted to look back at my trip to Ft. Lauderdale for the Reimagining Health Summit. It was the second time I attended this event – you can find last year's recap here! – and my first participation as a speaker. I was invited to speak on a panel with three incredible coaches – they have all inspired me on my journey as an IHP – and although I was super nervous, it went really well.

Some highlights of the trip:

– Ft. Lauderdale! It was my first time in Ft. Lauderdale, which is surprising since it's a Disney cruise port and we love Disney cruises – and I thought it was super cute. It reminded me of Jacksonville, which was one of our favorite beach spots when we lived in Valdosta. I arrived an evening early and had time to meet a Revenue Rx client for dinner at Pura Vida.

Take a Lagree course,

and got a blowout in the dry bar, which quickly fell out with the humidity, but I gave it a try, lol.
– Dinner with IHP friends. We had a delicious dinner at the Lona restaurant in the hotel and it was so great to chat in person with so many friends that I see all the time online and at our EquiLife Ambassador board meetings. We ate tacos and chatted and it was the perfect start to the trip.
–The energy.
There is a special magic in being surrounded by passionate people who share the same mission as you: the desire to help others live their best, happiest, healthiest lives.
– The meetings.
This year it was even just for IHPs – they alternate years with public and trainer-only events – and there were so many impactful sessions.
Some of my favorites were Dr. Tonys from Hope 4 Cancer in Mexico,

Dr. Cabral's keynote,

and Eric Lofholm's talk on building a business.
– Our panel!!
I was invited to speak on a six-figure health coaching expert panel with some powerful women I adore: Rebecca, Ellen, and Tricia

When I was invited to speak, I didn't know if I would do it. I regularly struggle with imposter syndrome and public speaking is (was?) my worst nightmare. I'm consistent with content creation and all parts of my online business, but at least once a day I ask myself, “What am I doing? Does anyone care? Do I suck?”
I read a book of public speaking strategies and did a lot of meditation, prayer, and visualization. I wanted to do it, but I also didn't want to pass out on stage.

A few things worked in my favor beforehand:
We were guided backstage by Cassie, who is an absolute angel. Everyone who works at EquiLife is an amazing human being, but Cassie is a particularly bright, beautiful light. (You can see her in this IG Live we did here!) She gave us a much-needed pep talk before we went on stage, assuring us that we had a lot to teach and give to the community.
I picked up a CBD gummy that was in our gift bag. It was just enough to take the edge off, lol.
We prayed together. We held hands and Rebecca said the most beautiful prayer and after that I felt like I could do it.
Furthermore, Dr. Cabral is a really nice person and it helped that I spoke to him in the past. I knew he would ask great questions and be easy to talk to, so having that part of the panel took a lot of the pressure off.

-The VIP Awards Dinner.
Thanks to all of your incredible support, I was gifted this trip as the winner of the 100 Day Challenge. I'm ranked #7 out of over 5,000 IHPs and was ranked #7 last year too. 😉 It means a lot to me that I can be a small part of your health journey and I'm so grateful to all of you and all of my amazing customers.

It was so much fun enjoying a lovely meal with other challenge winners, conference speakers and the EquiLife team.

– The fair!
It's a little smaller, but much higher quality than some of the conferences I've attended. Some of my favorite brands were there including HigherDOSE and Redmond's Real Salt.

One of my favorite goodies in the gift bag: handbag-sized bottles of sea salt

Personally, the trip was also a big step for me because I hadn't been alone for more than an hour since February. When we started homeschooling P, many things in our lives changed. Since then, I haven't been alone in our house, let alone in a hotel room. It felt like the days after giving birth – I was trying to remember what it was like to be alone – and while parts of me couldn't wait to get away lol, I was sad when it actually happened.

(My room had enough beds and space for the family! They're coming next year!)
At the same time, for the first time in months, I felt my creative energy flowing again, and that was really exciting.
All in all it was a great trip and I'm looking forward to the RHS next year.
I hope you have a wonderful day, friends, and see you soon.
