    Whether you call them “love handles” or a “muffin top”, none of us love to have love handles, am I right? The problem is, it’s a tiresome target, especially when you want to wiggle into your favorite skinny black pants.

    If you’re not sure which part of the body I’m referring to, love handles are the excess fat spot on the sides of your waist. If you put on something tight fitting, you may find that they are a bit … in the way.

    I’ll be honest ladies we have all been there. We’ve all tried doing sit-ups while watching Netflix, but it just doesn’t seem to work. That’s because it’s not about sit-ups, but rather a comprehensive approach to knowing how to lose love grips.

    So, if you want to know how to lose side fat, keep reading because I’m going to tell you everything you need to know.

    Cut away excess sugar

    If you want to know how to get rid of love handles, you need to start reducing your sugar intake. No, I’m not talking about natural sugars – as found in fruit. I am referring to things like sodas, candy, baked goods, and highly processed foods.

    Not only are these foods quite nutritionally empty, they are also full of sugar. Eating too much sugar can have devastating effects on your digestive system and overall health, including obesity, weight gain, and love handles.

    Yes, that’s right, ladies. If you want to know the best way to get rid of love handles, start by cutting back on sugar. If you are a tea or coffee drinker, try cutting back on the sugars you add to these drinks, as well as cereal – and of course, on snacks.

    Start lifting weights

    You don’t have to be a bodybuilder to add some weights to your exercise regimen. While plenty of regular exercise is considered the best way to get rid of love handles, the inclusion of weights can also be beneficial.

    High fiber foods slow digestion so you can enjoy breakfast and feel full until lunch.

    Include healthy fats in your diet

    Not only can a lack of sleep make you feel sluggish the next day, but it can also increase the levels of cortisol in your body – the so-called stress hormone. When this occurs, it can result in weight gain, anxiety, headaches, and even digestive problems.

    • legumes

    Increase your cardio

    While lifting weights is a great way to maximize afterburn, cardio is often viewed as the best way to get rid of love handles.

    However, we recommend a combination of both! If you are new to the sport, try to walk daily before introducing HIIT workouts and more intense forms of exercise.

    Eat complex carbohydrates

    Just as many of us think all fat is bad, not all carbohydrates are bad for you. Yes, I’m talking about the benefits of complex carbohydrates.

    Avoid: Refined carbohydrates like white rice, pasta, and white bread

    Get Plenty of: Complex carbohydrates like sweet potato, beans, oats, and brown rice

    Take the time to enjoy your food

    It’s easy to have a huge meal when your focus is on the TV! Distracted eating can easily cause us to ingest more calories, leading to weight gain, including love handles.
