Many of you have already downloaded my free e-book Colonoscopy – so you know about the dangers of unsterilized cameras and the “side effects” of gluteraldehyde – but a real story like this can clearly illustrate the risks.

This is a patient from the Goldberg-Tener Clinic (to whom I often refer people for help) who underwent what was supposed to be a routine colonoscopy and ended up with C. difficile infection, colitis, lupus and diabetes; as one disease dominated the next.

    Dr. Goldberg writes:

“I wanted to share this with you, Jini, because it concerns the aftermath of a routine colonoscopy in 2010 – which our patient, Ms. Linda Good, suffered from for almost a decade before she came to us. This The colonoscope she used had not been properly sterilized This caused her to contract Clostridium difficile.

Ms. Good was hospitalized and given Flagyl and vancomycin. Soon after, she developed ulcerative colitis due to Clostridium difficile and was given steroids. The steroids led to immune system suppression and the development of C. Difficile twice more. She continued to have persistent UC symptoms and was placed on a variety of medications over the next decade, including Entocort, Lialda, sulfasalazine, and Asacol. She was also given numerous herbs and supplements by a functional doctor and her condition continued to deteriorate.

In 2019, Ms. Good’s joints became swollen and painful. She consulted a rheumatologist who diagnosed her with lupus and gave her steroids, Imuran, Cymbalta and muscle relaxants.

The steroids put her in a diabetic state and caused mood swings, weight gain and hair loss. Her doctor told her that she would be on medication for the rest of her life and would not be able to survive without it.

Fortunately, after consultation with us and a seven-month program to restore her health, Ms. Good is now completely well – symptom-free and completely drug-free.

Interestingly, Ms. Good told me that when she was admitted for a colonoscopy, she heard one of the nurses say that they “couldn’t find the colonoscope we originally selected, but here’s another one we can use.” A decade of illness and suffering for a “preventive” measure.”

Remember that no one is saying that a colonoscopy is never a useful procedure. What we’re saying is that you need to be aware of the risks involved and ask yourself whether the reason you’re having a colonoscopy is worth the risk.

I also recommend that you follow my pre- and post-colonoscopy protocols in my free Colonoscopy e-book to reduce the risk of damage or infection.

Here is the video in which Linda shares the details of her story and treatment at the Goldberg-Tener Clinic – I have advised the video to skip the introduction:

The good news is: there is one Disposable colonoscope! It is already in use in Switzerland and Italy and will soon be launched in Australia. You can read more about it in this blog post – also subscribe to my newsletter so you don’t miss any new information!
