Why are the minerals in Absorb Plus so low?

We often get the question – why are the minerals in Absorb Plus so low?

Well, the amounts of all minerals and vitamins in Absorb Plus are formulated so that one can take a maximum of 12 servings per day. To get even a daily therapeutic dose of vitamins and minerals, you would need to consume at least five shakes a day.

Remember that Absorb Plus was formulated to be consumed as the basic, only source of food.

The minerals in AP are intentionally low because:

1. Regular magnesium loosens the intestines. Absorb Plus contains very little magnesium because people already have a liquid diet and the intestines are inflamed. So we don’t want to give them diarrhea by giving them lots of normal magnesium! Remember, the body can only absorb 5-15% of normal magnesium (magnesium oxide absorption is lowest at 5% and citrate / bisglycinate is highest at 15%) and the rest is excreted into the intestines where it is irritates and stimulates a bowel movement. This is great when you’re constipated, but terrible when your bowels are already loose and irritable.

2. Calcium regularly builds up in the arteries. Absorb Plus contains very little calcium – because “normal” calcium in powder form can accumulate in the arteries and is considered to be the main cause of heart disease. Even with 5 servings of Absorb Plus per day, you will only receive 250 mg calcium – far below the recommended dose of 1000 mg per day for osteoporosis prevention.

The great advantage of QuikPlus Bone Matrix and QuikPlus Magnesium is that people can finally take a therapeutic or high dose of calcium and / or magnesium without suffering from loose bowels or diarrhea or risking calcification.

3. Iron puts a strain on the intestines and can cause intestinal bleeding. Many of our customers use Absorb Plus to recover from intestinal bleeding, and iron can trigger or worsen intestinal bleeding. Because of this, it has been removed from the formula – and people can then add as needed. Depending on the size of the person, they will consume anywhere from 3 to 10 shakes a day. Since iron is a very powerful substance, it would be very difficult to determine an amount that would be suitable for everyone and that would not cause iron toxicity in some.

That is why I recommend QuikPlus Iron for people with intestinal sensitivity or who are prone to intestinal bleeding – as it does not require digestion and therefore does not irritate the intestines.

Still sensitive to nano size?

Are you very sensitive to magnesium and have found that even nano-sized magnesium can loosen up your bowel movements? In this case, it’s best to start with half a dose and add it to a bottle of water (16 ounces or more) that you drink throughout the day. Once your body gets used to it, increase the dosage to the full amount, in 16 ounces of water or herbal tea, and drink throughout the day.

If you dilute the dosage and spread it over the day, your body will have plenty of time to use the mineral carefully and not trigger any reactions.

Note: These instructions can apply to ANY QuikPlus mineral except iron. Since iron has the potential to stain teeth, it would have to be diluted in 16-32 ounces of water and ideally drunk through a straw (you can buy glass or stainless steel straws on Amazon) for the liquid to get on the back of your mouth and not whirled around the teeth.
